In recent years, there were the Bachmeiers (Jesse and Tyler), the Sandersons (Russell and Zack), the Rausers (JR and Gavin) and the Brewers (Aaron and Alex). Now there’s a new brother combo in the River City.
The Campbell River Storm Junior Hockey Club is pleased to announce that TJ (’98) and Timon Prexler (’00) have committed for the 2017/18 season. Both played for the WSHL Bellingham Blazers last year.
TJ has a Storm connection having AP’d with the Black and Red two seasons ago as a Midget playing for the BCMML Vancouver Northeast Chiefs.
In 51 games last season, TJ demonstrated an ability to make plays tallying 38 points, 30 of which were assists. Storm Head Coach and General Manager, Lee Stone, feels there’s plenty of upside with his newest forward, “He’s the type of player that you have to see over time to truly appreciate how really smart he is; there’s a playmaking touch there. I think he can fill into our top 6 and produce some numbers for us.”
Timon, a 6’ 0” defenceman, accumulated 17 points in 49 games with the Blazers. At 17 years old, Stone liked what he saw at Training Camp and describes the young man’s style, “Smooth; very good in terms of moving the puck out of his own zone, getting up in the play and being that offensive guy yet he’s still very strong in his own end. I think he’s a prospect to play at the next level.”
The Storm open the regular season at home on Friday, September 1, against the Oceanside Generals.
