Junior Prep Camp

Monday, July 28, 2014

The Campbell River Storm Hockey Club is pleased to announce that the team is partnering with the KIJHL's Creston Valley Thunder Cats to run a Junior Prep and Identification Camp in Calgary, Alberta from August 8th to 10th, 2014. Registration for the camp is now open. For more information, please visit the Creston Valley Thunder Cats registrations page.

"Creating a partnership with the Thunder Cats organization is a no brainer. I am very excited to start establishing the Storm brand in Alberta and working with Jeff Dubois,” says Storm Head Coach and General Manager Lee Stone. "With the recent change under Hockey Canada guidelines to the import rules it was important to continue working on our Alberta pipeline," he continued.

The camp is open to all players born between 1994 and 1999. Athletes who are interested in competing for a spot with the Storm or Thunder Cats in this or future seasons will be evaluated by team coaches, while participants who have already committed to a junior program for the 2014/15 season can use the weekend as an opportunity to prepare for their upcoming main camp in a competitive, junior-level environment.

For the 2014/15 season, Alberta residents born in 1996 or earlier are eligible to play junior hockey in British Columbia.

The cost of attending the camp is $175 and spaces are limited. All camp participants will compete in four games over three days, with the game schedule set to be released once teams are confirmed in early August. All sessions will take place on the Red Arena ice at the Flames Community Arenas in Calgary, AB.
