Radke and Hahn Commit

The Campbell River Storm Junior Hockey Club is pleased to announce that Defencemen Ryan Radke (’98) and Forward Oliver Hahn (’99) have committed for the 2017-18 season.

Ryan Radke, from Cave Creek Arizona, played last season with the T1EHL Phoenix Junior Coyotes. Radke comes highly recommended from Head Coach and General Manager Lee Stone’s Desert contacts, “Ryan played at a very high level in the Tier 1 Elite League, a real smooth skating defenceman who plays his position and moves the puck effectively. He’s not the biggest guy at 5’10” but is very strong defensively and who will make us deeper on the back end.” Radke picked up 6 points and 52 penalty minutes in 25 games.

Oliver Hahn is a player the Storm have been following for a few years. Last year, the 6’1” 180 pound Forward was with Shawnigan Lake Prep of the CSSHL. The season before, the Victoria product played with the BCMML South Island Royals. Stone on Hahn, “He’s really grown since we started following him and added a physical element to his game. For us, we’re really excited to have him come in and showcase the offensive talent he has but also be the guy that can get into the corners and bring that heavy game.” Hahn had 10 points and 58 penalty minutes in 25 games.

The Storm open the VIJHL regular season on September 1 at the Brindy against North Division rivals, the Oceanside Generals.
